I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to 3D Creative Magazine for featuring one of my artworks, "Roots / The African." It was an honor to have this project recognized and published.

The Story Behind Roots / The African

At the end of 2010, Somalia faced one of the most devastating famine crises in its history. The tragedy deeply affected me, and as an artist, I felt a responsibility to express the emotions and thoughts it stirred within me through my work.

Roots / The African portrays an elderly African leader who symbolizes the strength, dignity, and resilience of the African people. Through his eyes, I wanted to convey a message to the world—a reminder that behind every crisis are human lives, rich cultures, and a shared history that deserves compassion and respect.

The character's skin was painted to resemble the Earth, while the background represents the vastness of space. This visual contrast symbolizes my belief that Africa is the cradle of humanity—our shared roots—and that we should never forget where our story began.

My intention was not only to highlight the suffering caused by famine but also to encourage a deeper sense of empathy. Meaningful support goes beyond temporary aid or symbolic gestures. It begins with genuine compassion, respect, and the recognition that we are all connected as one human family.

I hope this artwork encourages people to reflect on our shared humanity and inspires hope for a future where Africa continues to grow, prosper, and offer its people the opportunities and quality of life they deserve.
